Here is an interesting tidbit that I thought was worth passing along. Jet Set, a company known for producing erotic material marketed to gay men, has set to produce a porno based on Levi Johnson (the guy that is involved with Sarah Palin's daughter), and in a weird crossover, they have gotten Lisa Ann to jump on board in it as Sera Paylin from her Hustler series, Who's Nailin' Paylin?
This wouldn't be such a big deal, if not for the fact that Lisa has been featured in several promotional pieces by the company, including some of her appearing topless. This would seem to indicate that Lisa's roll will be more than just that of set dressing and guest star, but perhaps she will have yet another sexual round as the next contender to the Presidency (which if she does end up running, that means we got about five more years or so of Palin related porn flicks...I'm not complaining.)
In this day and age it is unusual for major mainstream porn stars to do bisexual porn, and for Jet Set it is equally strange that they would promote a female in one of their flicks.
Here is a link to the promo shots.

| It may be unusual but consider this. Lisa Ann was a middling level porn star in her prime but since she made her comeback she is approaching a level of stardom on par with Jenna Jameson in her prime. That is so unusual that a crossover like this is almost par for the course. |

|

According to PWInsider.com, Hustler will indeed face a lawsuit from the family of Nancy Benoit after a judge in Georgia refused to throw the case out, much to Hustler's chagrin. The family charges that Hustler exploited the death of Nancy and that the pictures were published without consent. Hustler has tried to claim that the photographs were newsworthy, but only a really dumb (or on the take) judge would follow that line of thought to get Hustler off the hook.
At this point, Hustler needs to just man up, apologize for their mistake, and start working out some sort of settlement agreement. The only good news for Hustler is that this isn't anywhere near the most classless thing they have ever done, and as such the public relations department won't lose any sleep over trying to defend the magazine. They will simply shrug and say “this just goes with the territory.” |

| http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2010/03/i_wonder_if_this_will_work.html During Roger Ebert's latest online blog, the movie critic brought up the inability of anyone on the internet to make money (obviously overlooking places like Amazon, even if it did take them several years to make money) before he was corrected by none other than Danni Ashe's husband (complete with an ultra sexy shot of Dannie in a business suit.) |

|
|
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/03/icelands-parliament-bans-striptease-in-clubs/1 Iceland has banned all businesses which make money from employee nudity (this has basically been declared a blanket strip club ban in the country.)
This on top of Australia's recent rally to ban or heavily restrict all forms of erotic entertainment makes one wonder how anybody can say with a straight face that the United States is somehow the most prudish nation on Earth at this point. |

| http://www.xbiz.com/news/glbt/118874 The Czech Republic of all places has become Europe's gay porn capital thanks to an increase in out of work men who are turning to gay porn as an easy way to make money. I'm still not quite sure how that adds up entirely to be honest. |

I don't really give a rat's ass who sleeps with who or why or whatever, but there is something kinda sexy about the image of Anna Paquin having sex with guys and gals so I thought I'd pass that tidbit along...

Australia ebbs and flows on the subject. Their adult channels are pretty tame, and there's no gay porn channel. There's a guy who's been trying for years to ban topless sunbathing (an Aussie past time) and I can't see that happening anytime soon.
I think the Canadians are the worst. Their parliament bought the whole "heterosexualily is tantamount to rape" argument, and effectively oulawed straight porn but legalised gay porn. _________________ ------

I keep reading about what prudes the Americans are from our European friends. Don't let the Germans and the French and the Italians know about this or they'll be turning their arrows towards you guys in Australia and Canada. |

The topless sunbathing maybe closer to extinction than you'd think. Last Autumn I read a story about the French Riviera (which is famous for nude sun bathing.) The fad has fallen to the wayside to the point that it is actually seen as vulgar by many (including some in high social standings) for people to do that at this point.
I can't remember what spawned the changeover, but it was considered a pretty big deal.
As for us being prudes in the US, I find it rather funny since really what we're "prudish" about is keeping children from seeing erotic images. They never bring up the fact that National Geographic doesn't come under fire from anyone and is found in plenty of classrooms even though it features naked women. Nor do they recall that PBS will often air uncut movies that are mature in nature (having been the first national network in the country to show a nude woman in a stage play.)
I'll just throw in for the fact that Roots is often heralded as one of the most enduring family films ever produced for television, and it featured nakedness for the sake of realism at a time when the US was finding conservative attachments again.
The US just seeks to protect children (and adolescents really) from images which could skew their thought processes and effect them later. No matter what anyone tries to say, I'm pretty sure an eight year old seeing Jenna Jameson do what she does best isn't that healthy for their own sexual development =P
The final thing in this list of examples is Janet Jackson. I'll be the first to admit that the media went into overkill mode on that one, but I have always said that it wasn't what she did but where she did it that counted. Her little five second nipple flash pissed people off because of her intent not what was shown.
Little Kim showed more flesh on MTV than that during one of their award shows and nobody gave a rat's ass in the media other than to say some quirky stuff about it. The reason: it was expected because it was MTV. People figured if kids saw that then it was the parents fault, but they aren't supposed to worry about someone trying to show off their bodies during a football game (unless it's a cheerleader =P ) |

| The slant between violence and sex in North American culture becomes more absurd as time marches on. Blood, guts, killing, death. It's everyday, the norm, socially accepted to the point of being passe, we're desensitized ... but bring out the naked human body and a lot of people still get offended and up in arms about it. Children should be growing up in a culture that openly promotes a healthy view of sex in lieu of what they get today, but its as if we're actually moving backwards on this front. |
