...This can't be good.
Playboy has still not gotten in through their heads that reality shows are not their forte, to say the least, and they need to go back to their bread and butter (the vignette driven specials.)
In this case, they are asking couples living in Brooklyn to audition to be a part of a new Playboy reality series that will follow their lives.
Where to start..
1) This has been done to death by other networks, and as a result this series won't get Playboy any media attention whatsoever because it is simply rehashing what has become an old concept now. The only thing they might do with it is spice it up by getting the couples to let them be filmed having sex, but I doubt that will happen.
2) Why is Playboy going to Brooklyn? Nothing against New York, but Playboy has always had that California appeal. If you're going to do a series like this wouldn't a more Playboy-ish locale have been better? Los Angeles or San Francisco? Maybe head to Miami?
3) With the changes going on at Playboy it seems like this could end up being a lame duck series before long. I don't see Hefner or the Penthouse group finding the time or patience for this junk on their network if either one does manage to retake control of things.
It's just cementing the fact that those who are currently running Playboy don't have a blasted clue what they are actually doing, and probably don't deserve to be in the position of power that they are in. |

| They're advertising for Brooklyn couples pretty regularily on Playboy TV. I really wonder if they will end up with actual couples or end up hiring people who didn't know each other before hand to act as couples. I suspect that might be the case for 69 Things to do Before You Die and Search for the Perfect Girlfriend |
